Background: Shinn was a Coordinator that lived in ORB with his family. During the attack from the Earth Alliance, he and his family was forced to flee. However, just before reaching the escape vessel, Mayu Asuka (Shinn's Sister) drops her cellphone and refuses to leave until she gets it. Shinn rushes down a steep hill and retrieves it, just as a missfire from the fight between Freedom and Calamity hits the ground where his family was. When Shinn is awaken by an ORB officer, he looks for his family. He finds his sister's detached arm and following their mangled corpses. Shinn screams out and vows revenge on the pilot of the mobile suit that killed his family. The pilot of Freedom. He then defects to PLANT and enrolls in ZAFT. Two years later he becomes the top pilot and is assigned the new top secret Gundam, Impulse.Personality: As his Mobile Suit name fits him, Impulsive. He is very quick to anger and is still very passionate towards the death of his parents, especially his sister, Mayu. He has a strong dislike for ORB, especially Cagalli. He has a lot of angsty moments, especially when he's alone looking at his sister's cellphone. Unlike Kira however, Shinn only fights under his orders, but his secret agenda is to find the Gundam that killed his family.Talents: Aside from being a great pilot, but still not up with the Jachin Due survivors, Athrun and Yzak, we don't know much about Shinn's talents. As seen in the latest episode, Shinn is able to use the SEED ability.
